Parliament Square

Hobart CBD

The Parliament Square redevelopment in Hobart is an important landmark project located in a prime position adjacent to the Salamanca precinct and close to the vibrant waterfront. Designed by award-winning architects FJMT, in consultation with renowned heritage architects Design 5, the project is focused on design excellence and enhancement of the public domain. The redevelopment includes a new office building, “The Salamanca Building Parliament Square”, specialty retail, food and beverage offerings, a luxury hotel, and open public space. Vos have been involved with this project for some 5 years starting from a $16M office redevelopment evolving into a $100M contract for the refurbishment of the existing heritage St Mary’s hospital and the old art deco Dept of Health and Human services building, plus building 3 levels of new carpark's, new hotel and the restaurant & function spaces that we see today.

The Parliament Square redevelopment includes a new 152 room luxury hotel, The Tasman, to be operated under Marriott’s five-star The Luxury Collection brand. The hotel features luxuriously appointed guest rooms and suites with carefully restored features, including original stonework, windows, floorboards and fireplaces. Guests will have a choice of staying in either grand Victorian era rooms, chic Art Deco inspired rooms, or calm contemporary rooms in the new wing.  The property will offer an upscale restaurant, lobby lounge and bar, and cocktail bar promoting Tasmania’s craftwork by our tradesman.

Vos would like to thank our team and subcontractors for their work.
