Vos Construction & Joinery Pty Ltd is honoured to win the Master Builders Australia National Excellence award, Commercial/Industrial Construction $10 million to $20 million for the Devonport Aquatic Centre.

The award was presented to Vos Construction & Joinery General Manager Phillip Matthews at the 2014 Master Builders National Excellence in Building and Construction Awards held in Canberra on Friday 21 November 2014.

This prestigious national award highlights the high quality of standard that Vos Constructions strives to achieve on each project it undertakes.  This award is testimony to the commitment of our employees and the subcontractors we engage”, said Phillip Matthews, General Manager of Vos Construction and Joinery Pty Ltd.

VOS General Manager Phillip Matthews said “it was great to be recognized for the efforts of everybody involved”.

Vos Construction & Joinery Pty Ltd success at the national awards follows on from the Tasmanian Master Builders Awards in August where the Devonport Aquatic Centre won awards for Excellence in New Construction 10 million to 20 million, Best use of Timber in a commercial development and Best use of Masonry in a commercial development.

Phillip Matthews said “the new curved roof structure with large spans created challenges that needed innovative solutions and resourceful sub-contractors all of which contributed greatly to the outstanding success of this project”.

The Devonport Indoor Aquatic Centre consists of a new 25 metre eight-lane indoor swimming pool, a new indoor learn to swim/warm water exercise pool and leisure water with water play features, a new outdoor water play splash pad with water play features, fitness gym and fitness program room, multi-purpose room, swim club/meeting room, cafe and seating, change rooms, storage and first-aid room.

This is a terrific facility for the public and is part of Devonport improving facilities to make the city the hub of leisure and sporting activities on the North West Coast.
